I felt like January needed a little pick-me-up. I always think that it must feel a bit of a letdown after all the lights and decorations of December. So I picked up my crochet hooks and started crocheting. Before I knew it I had a good stack of stars sitting next to me (pattern here). I hung them in my kitchen.
Just beneath my jars...
It makes me happy to see a little more color in there. I think little Red agrees.

Oh - I love your little stars Andrea! Just the perfect thing to add cheer and color. Is there a pattern?
Andrea,
First...goodness it's just in the air! I bought two skeins of yarn, feeling the need to knit! LOL Second, very cute stars! :D
Thank you for the pattern Andrea!
Oh good you saw it Linda! I replied by email to your first comment but I wasn't sure if you got it or not.
Shelly... I know... I'm in serious knitting mode!
Andrea, where did you get your cubby on the top that holds all of your canisters with handles? I love that. I was thinking of putting a shelf up with all my glass baking jars, and then I saw yours. I love, love, love the cubbies. Very cute! If I find something that works for mine, I will post pictures. If you have any ideas...pass them this way. ;) I'm thinking of checking out our local Memory Lane for some antiques...I like usable (broken in) items in my kitchen. Your home is so inviting.
Thank you! I got it at IKEA. We have one here in town and I loved it as soon as I saw it. (I'm sure it's on their website too.) It's supposed to attach under a shelf or cupboard but it's a bit heavy (thick glass) and I don't have any room in my kitchen to hang it so it sits on the shelf. It works well there though! I know, I love using different looking jars and canisters. Let me know what you find!
Guess I should clarify... the cubby and jars with handles came together. The shelves and brackets are also from IKEA and the jars on the bottom shelf are from various places. Hope that helps!
Thank you! I will take a peek around and see what I can find. If nothing else, I may get some good & practical ideas from Ikea. ;) Thank you! :D
New baby on the way, how incredibly exciting! Great to see you're going to join in on the quilt-along over on Randi's blog. I went and picked out my fabric Sat., now I need to sit and get my photos of the fabric uploaded:) Oh how I just love cutting fabric up only to rearrange it and piece it back together. Your blog is beautiful, have a great rest of the day! Christine :D
too cute! i love the way those stars add some fun color!
Christine... yes very exciting! And I'm thrilled about the quilt-along. I'll be picking out my fabric this weekend. So anxious to get going on it. It will be fun to go through this with others. Thanks for stopping by!
Randi... thank you!
